What is the CMR Teacher Training?

If you are a trained mindfulness teacher, through any BAMBA organisation, have joined our Alumni Community and are looking to develop your skills further, then this course is ideal for you.

The CMR programme, taught in a virtual classroom via zoom,  will teach you how to build resilience through the blend of mindfulness and compassion in a creative way.  You will learn how to use shorter, more bespoke practices and coping strategies, all aiming to promote higher levels of self-kindness, resilience and feelings of robustness and empowerment.

You need to be an Alumni Community member to apply for this course.

What we offer

We will give give you the tools and information to be able to then bring your learning back to your organisation and teach your participants how mindfulness and compassion can support emotional well-being.  Each session will help them to understand more about stress and how it affects the body and mind, and develop the resources to embrace mindfulness and compassion within their lives.

Karen Atkinson

Karen is the Co-founder and Senior Partner of MindfulnessUK, an author, a trustee of the British Association of Mindfulness-based Approaches (BAMBA), a teacher and trainer of mindfulness and compassion skills and practices, and a Bangor trained supervisor of mindfulness teachers. Karen has been teaching mindful movement and meditation for over 30 years, and recently published ‘Compassionate Mindful Inquiry in Therapeutic Practice’.  It is fair to say that she takes the greatest pride in having used her unique position to develop the Integrated Mindfulness and Compassion Qualification, a ground-breaking qualification and the first of its kind in the market. As a highly respected, extremely experienced, and well-trained mindfulness teacher with a warm, intuitive, friendly, and professional manner, Karen’s mission is to bring this enhanced enjoyment of life to as many people as possible.

Kate Elliott

Kate has a background in the corporate world, where she has worked in Campaign Marketing and more recently in Change and Talent Management. Through her experience and working with a diverse client background (teaching mindfulness and yoga), she became more aware of the pressures we face in today’s world and the impact it has on people’s mental health and wellbeing and it was this insight that led her complete the MBSR, IMC and CMR teacher training courses with MindfulnessUK. As an adoptive Mum to a little girl, Kate knows firsthand the pressures that come with caring for a child with a background in trauma and has experienced compassion fatigue several times. She is passionate about supporting people who work in the health and social care sectors, to equip them with the tools and resilience they need to keep doing the fantastic job they do for society.

Angie Ward

Angie is Head of Teacher Training and delivers the IMC Qualification as well as supporting all new students as they start their training at Mindfulness UK. Angie leads our partnership projects with the Mental Health Foundation and develops and delivers Mindfulness and Compassion Programmes in Education, Health and Social Care for Teaching & Support Staff, Children and Young People. Angie’s career in Health and Social care spans over 20 years, working with people in social care, and children’s and mental health charities as well as specialising in developing and delivering training and CPD for equality, diversity and Special Educational Needs (SEN.) Benefitting from regular meditation for many years, Angie is an experienced and supportive tutor with a sensitive approach to teaching and leading students through the transformation of learning.
